أعلنت الشرطة الأسترالية، إلقاء القبض على امرأة عرّافة تبلغ من العمر 53 عاماً، تدّعي أنها خبيرة «فنغ شوي»، وهي فلسفة صينية تعني فن التناغم مع الفضاء المحيط وتدفقات الطاقة من خلال البيئة، بتهمة الاستيلاء على ملايين الدولارات من عملاء ضعفاء عبر الاحتيال بمدينة سيدني.
وقالت شرطة ولاية نيو ساوث ويلز إن المرأة «استغلت عملاء ضعفاء من الجالية الفيتنامية عبر إقناعهم بالحصول على قروض مالية، بناء على تنبؤاتها بوجود «ملياردير» في مستقبلهم»، وكانت تأخذ جزءاً من تلك الأموال لنفسها.
كما ألقي القبض على امرأة ثانية تبلغ من العمر 25 عاماً بتهمة مساعدة المرأة الأكبر سناً في إدارة مخطط الاحتيال، الذي قدرت الشرطة قيمته بـ70 مليون دولار أسترالي (46 مليون دولار أمريكي).
وأوضحت الشرطة أنه تم إلقاء القبض على المرأتين أمس (الأربعاء) في منزل بمدينة سيدني، حيث صادرت أيضاً «وثائق مالية وهواتف محمولة وأجهزة إلكترونية أخرى وحقائب يد فاخرة، بالإضافة إلى سبيكة ذهب تزن 40 جراماً بقيمة 10 آلاف دولار أمريكي ورقائق كازينو بقيمة 6600 دولار أمريكي».
The Australian police announced the arrest of a 53-year-old woman who claims to be a "feng shui" expert, a Chinese philosophy that means the art of harmonizing with the surrounding space and the flow of energy through the environment, on charges of defrauding vulnerable clients out of millions of dollars in Sydney.
New South Wales police stated that the woman "exploited vulnerable clients from the Vietnamese community by convincing them to take out financial loans based on her predictions of a 'billionaire' in their future," and she took a portion of that money for herself.
A second woman, aged 25, was also arrested on charges of assisting the older woman in managing the fraud scheme, which police estimated to be worth 70 million Australian dollars (46 million US dollars).
The police clarified that the two women were arrested yesterday (Wednesday) at a home in Sydney, where they also seized "financial documents, mobile phones, other electronic devices, luxury handbags, as well as a gold bar weighing 40 grams valued at 10,000 US dollars and casino chips worth 6,600 US dollars."
